Dr. Gregory Bashian and Dr. Chris Jones Join Medical Staff at Horizon Medical Center

DICKSON, TN. (July 12, 2011) — Dr. Gregory G. Bashian and Dr. Chris Jones with Centennial Heart Cardiovascular Consultants has joined the staff of Horizon Medical Center. Working in collaboration with Dickson Cardiology Associates, Dr. Bashian and Dr. Jones will provide electrophysiology specializing in atrial fibrillation ablation.

Dr. Bashian graduated Cum Laude from Yale University with a degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. He completed his medical education and received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he graduated with honors, Alpha Omega Alpha. He then served his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University, where he also completed a Fellowship in Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Bashian has completed Clinical Fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH.

Dr. Bashian specializes in invasive and noninvasive management of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, Pulmonary Vein Antrum Isolation (Atrial Fibrillation Ablation), and implantation, extraction, and management of Pacemakers and ICDs.


Dr. Jones is a native of Oak Ridge, TN. He is an alumnus of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he graduated summa cum laude and received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in nuclear engineering. He attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, graduating in 1998, earning induction to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and receiving the Medical Student Award for Research in Nuclear Imaging. He subsequently served as intern and resident on the Osler medical service at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He later completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Jones furthered his cardiology training by completing an electrophysiology fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana under the tutelage of Dr. Eric Prystowsky. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and its subspecialty board of Cardiovascular Diseases and Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Jones is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society.

Dr. Jones provides a complete array of cardiac electrophysiology services, including evaluation of syncope and palpitations, medical management of arrhythmias, device implantation and follow-up, and catheter ablation of tachy-arrhythmias.
