SUMMIT PROMOTES BREAST CANCER AWARENESS WITH A FREE LUNCH & LEARN ON BREAST HEALTH

Women age 65 and older are less likely to get mammograms than younger women, even though breast cancer risk increases with age. In order to raise awareness of breast cancer, Summit Medical Center is offering a free lunch and learn seminar on “Breast Health Education” on Friday, October 23 at noon in the classrooms on the ground floor of the hospital. During this lunch seminar, Dr. Robin Williams, M.D., F.A.C.S., will discuss the importance of screenings, mammograms, diagnosis, and treatment options.

Stephen Felts, M.D., infectious disease physician at Summit Medical Center, will present “Flu Education and Adult Vaccinations.” This presentation will take place on Tuesday, October 20 at 11:30 a.m. at Summit Medical Center in the classrooms on the ground floor of the hospital. At that time, Dr. Felts will discuss vaccinations for the seasonal flu, the H1N1 flu, and other viruses such as shingles.
