Treatment for Lung Cancer
Lung cancer causes more cancer-related death in the United States than any other form of cancer. Sarah Cannon at TriStar Health has specialized experts and resources for those fighting, or at risk for, lung cancer. Our experts include pulmonologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and surgeons who are specially trained to care for lungs and other parts of the respiratory system.
Lung Cancer Screenings
Sarah Cannon offers CT lung cancer screenings for those who may be at risk. The screening is non-invasive, painless and only takes a few minutes at one of our hospitals in Nashville, Hermitage, Hendersonville, Dickson or Bowling Green.
Who should get a LDCT Lung Screen?
LDCT Lung Screen is recommended for the following group of people who are at high risk for lung cancer. Screens in this program are reviewed by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, including a pulmonologist, thoracic surgeon, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist and radiologist.
- People ages 55-77
- People who have smoked for at least an average of 1 pack a day for 30 years. This includes people who still smoke or have quit within the past 15 years.
- Those who have symptoms of a lung condition at the time of the screening, such as new cough or shortness of breath, are not eligible.
