The programs we offer are based on the belief that mental illness is treatable in a supportive, therapeutic environment. Our team of psychiatrists, counselors, social workers, case managers, dietitians and certified activity therapists work together to develop an individualized treatment plan for you.
Additionally, our connection with TriStar Skyline Medical Center allows any emergency medical needs to be addressed during treatment. Once you are stabilized, the staff works to educate both you and your family about the symptoms of your illness and the factors that led to hospitalization. We also help you find the ongoing care you need to prevent relapse.
Patients who are admitted into our inpatient program typically stay three to five days. The goal with inpatient treatment is to stabilize you and provide acute treatment for your mental health condition. Conditions we treat include:
- Bipolar disorder
- Substance abuse
Once you are ready for discharge, we will help you arrange the appropriate level of outpatient care. Additionally, we offer an inpatient senior mental health program specifically designed for older adults who also have comorbid conditions.
Our outpatient mental health programs are designed to help patients learn effective ways to cope with mental health conditions in day-to-day life. Areas we address in our outpatient programs include:
- Bipolar disorder
- Loss and grief
- Low self-esteem
- Marital and family issues
We offer outpatient behavioral health patient navigation to help you or your loved one find the right services and programs. Our navigator is a health care professional trained in acute inpatient psychiatric care, outpatient behavioral health care and crisis services.
The behavioral health navigator works with patients, families and referring providers to facilitate seamless, outpatient coordinated care while also assisting with appointment scheduling, insurance verification, education and resources.
Group therapy approach
In group therapy, patients learn coping skills and healthy ways of managing their symptoms. They are empowered to establish their own goals for recovery to achieve success and happiness. All of our sessions facilitate the recovery process by treating the underlying causes of the emotional and behavioral challenges patients are facing.
In our outpatient programs, you will attend three to four hours of group therapy per day that incorporate treatment approaches, such as:
- Evidence-based therapy (EBT)
- Seeking safety treatment approach
- Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Trauma sessions led by a psychologist
Partial hospitalization program (PHP)
Monday through Friday | 9:00am to 2:45pm
The PHP is a comprehensive, short-term outpatient program that typically lasts three to four weeks. It provides support and treatment for adults facing emotional or mental difficulties. We also offer a co-occurring, mental health and trauma track.
The program offers all of the features of inpatient care but without the overnight hospital stay. The structured format provides physician oversight as well as therapeutic groups and activities.
Because patients are able to return home in the evening, they stay linked to their family and community and can practice new skills that promote confidence and independence.
Intensive outpatient program (IOP)
Monday through Thursday | 9:00am to 12:00pm
Our IOP allows individuals to receive intensive therapy while continuing to maintain a daily schedule. Patients in our intensive outpatient program meet daily for mental health and substance abuse treatment.
We offer 24/7 behavioral health assessment services at our hospital. If you are coming in for an assessment, you may park in the hospital visitor parking lot. Please walk in the first ambulance bay and check in with the receptionist at the front desk. Once you have checked in, one of our team members will come get you for your assessment.
Based on your assessment, we will determine the appropriate level of care you need. This may include outpatient or inpatient services. If you are recommended for inpatient treatment, you will likely be admitted after your assessment. To be prepared, please bring the following to your assessment:
- Insurance information
- Prescribed medication
- Three to four days' worth of comfortable clothing
- Shoes without strings
- Books, notebooks or puzzles
