The Rehabilitation Center at TriStar Southern Hills

The Rehabilitation Center is our inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF) and is located on a dedicated floor of the hospital designed to optimize our patients’ recovery and comfort. During an inpatient stay, patients can expect 3 hours of therapy, 5-7 days a week. This more intensive care is designed to increase functional progress over a shorter period of time with the primary goal of returning patients to their home at the highest level of independence. Many patients need inpatient rehabilitation after a severe stroke, left ventricular assist device (LVAD) surgery, amputation, hip or leg fracture, spinal cord injuries, or if they are recovering from critical illness myopathy and have been on a ventilator.

A team of physicians, rehab nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, case managers and dieticians all care for patients and make it their goal to help patients reach optimal function.

Our care teams are able to discharge many patients back to their home with home health and continued outpatient rehab. Education, disease management, diet, home setup and home exercise programs are provided to patients and their families. These resources help individuals manage their care and perform daily living activities.
