Our 41-bed comprehensive inpatient acute rehabilitation program at TriStar Skyline Medical Center has been delivering state-of-the-art rehabilitation services to our North Nashville community since 2003. When you are one of our patients, you are cared for by a multidisciplinary team that works together to help you regain independence and return to day-to-day activities.

Our rehabilitation unit is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) as an Adult Inpatient Rehabilitation Program and Adult Inpatient Stroke Specialty Program. We are also recognized by The Joint Commission as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, granting you access to highly trained stroke specialists and the very latest technologies.

Our rehabilitation services
The TriStar Skyline Rehabilitation Unit is a 41-bed inpatient unit located on the third floor of TriStar Skyline Medical Center. There are 21 private and 20 semi-private beds, and each room includes an in-suite bathroom to meet all needs for your overnight stay. We have two gym spaces to accommodate particular needs, with one on the third floor and a second on the ground floor. Between our compassionate team and the advanced equipment we provide, our suite of physical therapy and rehabilitation services includes:
- 24-hour medical, rehabilitation nursing care and emergency care in a hospital setting
- Caregiver/family education and training
- Free patient assessment
- Home evaluations

- Psychiatry care provided in both inpatient and outpatient settings

TriStar Skyline Rehabilitation does not treat patients who require ventilator assistance. The admitting physician decides on a case-by-case basis whether a patient's primary injury, illness and medical conditions are appropriate for admission.
Hours and frequency of services
Physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology services are available seven days per week between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm.
The frequency of service depends on the individual needs of each patient. At a minimum, patients will see their attending physician three days per week and their physical, occupational or speech therapist(s) six days per week, and will receive daily nursing care. On average, our patients participate in three to four hours of therapy each day Monday through Friday and a lesser amount of therapy on Saturday and Sunday.
Admission criteria
Admissions to our program begins with a referral to our admissions office at (615) 769-7338, where one of our rehabilitation specialists will begin a free evaluation to determine medical stability and appropriateness for admission. Our admission office will work with the referral source, insurance company, the physician and discharge planner to coordinate your admission to our facility.

Visiting hours are from 6:00am to 8:00pm, seven days a week. Please keep in mind that our patients are periodically in and out of their rooms throughout the day, particularly while receiving therapies and at meal times.

Stroke rehabilitation
After you or a loved one has a stroke, comprehensive follow-up care is crucial for a successful recovery. As a Stroke Specialty Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, we provide advanced physical therapy and rehabilitation services to stroke patients.
