Cardiac rehabilitation

Cardiac rehabilitation aims to help you recover from a cardiovascular event — such as a heart attack or heart failure — or other debilitating heart condition. This recovery process usually involves physical therapy, exercise and education to rebuild and maintain your heart strength.

Heart rehabilitation in Nashville, Tennessee

If you've undergone a heart procedure or event, we are here to help you heal.

At TriStar Skyline Medical Center, we understand that a cardiac event is a disruptive experience, so our licensed cardiac registered nurses (RNs) will help develop a personalized rehabilitation plan for you to return to what you enjoy most in life. Your program will incorporate exercise while your heart is monitored, and it will help you identify and manage risk factors to reduce the risk of continued heart issues.

Need a physician referral?

Cardiac rehabilitation services

Our cardiac rehabilitation services are designed to improve your cardiovascular health following a heart attack, heart failure or any other debilitating heart condition. Cardiac rehabilitation involves education and exercise in our wellness gym to rebuild and maintain heart strength.

Programs through our wellness gym help increase your stamina and condition your heart and vascular system. During every visit, a cardiac RN will take your blood pressure and answer any questions you have, and at least one other nurse will always be at the gym to offer assistance. Equipment we provide includes:

  • Ergometers (rowing machines)
  • Free weights
  • Recumbent stepper
  • Stationary bikes
  • Treadmills
  • Wall pulleys

How to join the wellness gym

While you will need a physician referral for our outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program, the wellness gym is open to the public. However, you will need to set up an initial visit before joining, and you will also need a clearance form from your physician before working out. During your initial visit, you will sign a consent form and we will give you instructions about how to use the equipment. We will also provide you with a workout plan to get started.

Membership is $20 per month for individuals and $35 per month for couples. For more information about membership, please call (615) 769-7890.

Getting to the wellness gym

The gym is located on the garden level (below the first floor) in the back of the hospital. You can park right outside the door.

We are open four days a week during these designated times:

  • Monday and Wednesday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm
  • Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00am to 12:00pm
