PGY2 cardiology pharmacy residency program
Program overview
The PGY2 cardiology pharmacy residency program is shared between HCA, TriStar Centennial Medical Center, and the University of Tennessee. TriStar Centennial Medical Center, HCA's flagship hospital, is a 741-bed facility and will serve as the primary practice site for the resident. Throughout the year, the resident will be involved in projects at the facility and corporate level. The resident will also have many opportunities to be involved in and network with other cardiology pharmacists at the local, state and national level.
As members of a team of 15 Pharmacy Residents (7 at TCMC and 8 at HCA Healthcare), each resident performs the vital role as preceptor for students rotating through the practice site. TriStar Centennial Medical Center has strong ties to the three local schools of pharmacy and involvement with several others nationwide.
After residency
This program will prepare graduates for clinical and leadership positions in cardiology pharmacy.
