Advanced neonatal care at our Level II NICU

All NICUs help mothers and newborn babies. However, some NICUs have designated "levels," which refer to the specific type of care provided. For example, our Level II NICU offers advanced care for newborns between 32 and 39 weeks of gestation. Our neonatologists are specially equipped and trained to care for babies born prematurely during this period of time. Before you go home, our nursery staff will also teach you the skills necessary to care for your baby and make a smooth transition home.

Our four-bed NICU is staffed by:

  • 24/7 in-house neonatal nurse practitioners
  • Case managers
  • Lactation consultants
  • Social workers
  • Specialty-trained NICU nurses
  • Specialty-trained NICU respiratory therapists

NICU at TriStar Health

The neonatal intensive care unit works to provide critical care to newborns who are ill or premature. Many factors may lead to a newborn being admitted to the NICU, including low birth weight or complications during delivery. The NICU staff works closely with parents to develop a treatment plan for their newborn.
