The medical oncologists at our hospital use powerful cancer-fighting drugs, hormones and immuno-stimulants to help the body stop or slow the growth of malignant cells. Chemotherapy is one such method, using drugs that interfere with the cancer's ability to reproduce and grow.
We provide conventional radiation oncology therapies as well as intensity-modulated radiation therapy, high-dose radiation and stereotactic radiosurgery. We were also the first hospital in the state of Tennessee to receive radiation oncology accreditation by the American College of Radiology.
To remove a tumor, surgery may be required. Our inpatient and outpatient surgical suites are equipped with minimally invasive technology for the most advanced surgical procedures, including:
- Chemoembolization therapies
- Video-guided surgery
- Laser surgery
- Microscopic surgery
- Radiofrequency ablation
- Robot-assisted surgery
