The pediatric ER at The Children's Hospital

As a parent, you need the assurance that your child is receiving the best care when he or she experiences an emergency. Our pediatric ER is staffed with highly trained specialists who are able to diagnose and treat a wide range of issues, from broken bones to life-threatening emergencies. Our pediatric ER also offers the following:

Sensory-friendly program

We offer sensory-friendly rooms at our pediatric ER that contain adaptable lights and monitors with adjustable sound controls. All of our ER physicians, nurses and staff are trained in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and are sensitive to environmental and communication concerns.

If your child has ASD or another communication disorder, please notify the receptionists when you arrive at the ER. You can fill out a questionnaire that will help us identify ways we can best care for your family.
