Signs of substance abuse

Substance abuse can occur when an individual becomes dependent on alcohol or over-the-counter (OTC), prescription or illegal drugs. It can affect your mental health and negatively influence many areas of your life. Signs of substance abuse can include:

  • Addiction to drug and needing more over time to feel the same effect
  • Changes in physical health
  • Decrease in performance at school or work
  • Exhibiting unhealthy behaviors under the influence of the drug
  • Lack of interest in things you once enjoyed
  • Trouble keeping or maintaining relationships

Treatment programs we offer for dual diagnosis

Our behavioral health services include treatment for dual diagnosis (also known as co-occuring disorder), a condition where a patient is experiencing mental health challenges along with abusing drugs and/or alcohol. Our goal is to help you safely detox from substances while also addressing the underlying behavioral health issues that contribute to addiction.

We offer individualized inpatient and outpatient dual diagnosis treatment programs at both TriStar Centennial Parthenon Pavilion and TriStar Skyline Madison.

Inpatient substance abuse program

Substance abuse affects your mental, emotional and physical well-being. During inpatient treatment, we address all of these areas as we help you maintain sobriety. Our inpatient program includes group therapy sessions led by a chemical dependency specialist. After inpatient treatment, we help you find appropriate outpatient care and medication treatment.

Outpatient program for substance abuse

Our outpatient substance abuse program helps you identify any personal obstacles associated with substance abuse. During this time, we support you in achieving and maintaining sobriety. We equip you with the tools and knowledge you need to make decisions that lead to a healthier life.

Another outpatient treatment option we offer is our partial hospitalization program (PHP). PHP provides the structure of an inpatient program while allowing patients to return home each day. Patients meet Monday through Friday to participate in treatment that addresses both mental health conditions and substance abuse.
