Emergency care is the treatment of unexpected, severe medical injuries or infections. It is typically delivered in an emergency room or an ambulance. Our emergency medicine physicians stabilize your condition as quickly as possible to prepare you for the next step of care or discharge.
Heart attack symptoms
When it comes to a heart attack, time is everything. If you or a family member is potentially at risk, it is important to know the signs. Being able to recognize symptoms as soon as they start can help save your life or the life of someone you love. Symptoms include:

- Difficulty breathing
- Dizziness

- Unexplained anxiety

Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center
TriStar Skyline is proud to be Tennessee's first Comprehensive Stroke Center as recognized by The Joint Commission. We are accredited by The Joint Commission as a Disease Specific Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center. We are certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Stroke Association (ASA) for excellence in quick and effective stroke diagnosis and care.
Level I Trauma Center
We are proud to be recognized as a state-designated Level I Trauma Center by the State of Tennessee. This recognition indicates our trauma team's ability to quickly stabilize and treat patients who have experienced a severe injury.
Comprehensive Burn Center
The comprehensive burn and wound care team at TriStar Skyline Medical Center is made up of nationally-recognized, highly-trained specialists with extensive burn experience to care for both adult and pediatric burn emergencies.
Knowing the signs of a stroke
Similar to heart attacks, stroke is one of the more common life-threatening emergencies. Also like heart attacks, when it comes to strokes, time is crucial.
Stroke symptoms
If you experience any of the following symptoms, call 911 right away or visit your nearest emergency room.

- Difficulty seeing in one or both eyes
- Dizziness or loss of coordination
- Numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
