Cancer treatment
Cancer can take many forms, which means your treatment plan should too. Depending on the type and stage of your cancer, you may undergo surgery or radiation therapy. We also offer pain management and cancer rehabilitation services to help you recover after treatment.
Additionally, we provide genetic testing to tell if a mutation runs in your family. Knowing this is useful because there are options available to help lower your cancer risk or help detect cancer at an earlier, more treatable stage.
Cancer support
We partner with our community to support patients and families affected by cancer. From our dedicated nurse navigators to cancer support groups, we are here to make sure you are not alone in your journey. Additionally, we offer counseling, discharge planning, hospice care, nutritional assistance and spiritual support.
Our breast cancer support group
Look Good, Feel Better, sponsored by the American Cancer Society and TriStar Summit Medical Center, is a local support group designed to help women undergoing breast cancer treatment.
For information or to register, call the American Cancer Society at (800) 227-2345.
Recognition for cancer care
We have done everything we can to ensure your cancer care at our facility is exceptional, and we have been awarded a special designation for these efforts.
Designated high-quality cancer care
The Commission on Cancer (CoC) Approvals Program encourages hospitals, treatment centers and other facilities to improve their quality of patient care through various cancer-related programs. These programs are concerned with prevention, early diagnosis, pretreatment evaluation, support services and end-of-life care.
Only one in four hospitals that treat cancer receive this special approval. TriStar Summit Medical Center is one of these hospitals. This is partly because we recognize the quality of comprehensive cancer care available and indicate a commitment to providing patients access to various medical specialists who are involved in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
