Wound care

Wound care involves medical interventions to heal a wound after injury. Specialized treatment is provided for wounds that are nonhealing or refuse to heal on their own. A vital aspect of treatment includes learning how to properly dress and care for a wound.

We offer you access to specialized wound healing therapies. Our wound care team works with your caregivers to create a personalized treatment plan.

Therapies and treatments offered at our wound care center include:

  • Bioengineered skin grafting
  • Compression therapy
  • Debridement
  • Negative pressure wound therapy
  • Hyperbaric therapy
  • Lymphedema therapy

Infection control and wound care safety

Treatment plans are dependent on proper wound dressing, protection and prevention techniques. This makes infection control an important component of wound care. We take extra precautions to avoid infections and do everything we can to control infections that are already present.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)

Hyperbaric medicine refers to the use of HBOT to promote healing in all types of wounds and conditions. It is commonly used in wound care to promote the healing process. When undergoing HBOT, you enter a pressurized chamber where you breathe 100% pure oxygen.

The hyperbaric chamber creates an environment where the lungs can gather more oxygen. As a result, more oxygen enters the bloodstream and is carried throughout the body. The increased levels of oxygen help your body fight bacteria and infection, which promotes healing.
